Read any good books lately?

Hey everybody, it's Banned Books Week!

I'm ashamed to admit that I've only read 31 of the 100 most banned books of 1990-2000 (although 1 of those 31 pertains to the Harry Potter Series as a whole and I've devoured every one); many of those when I was an "impressionable" youngster. Guess I better get crackin', huh?

Up with books! Bah to banning!

If it makes you feel any better, I've only read 24 of 'em! :(

I tie with you at 31! Almost all of them children's books - no surprise there. I had forgotten all about "How to Eat Fried Worms" 'til I saw it on the list!

"How To Eat Fried Worms" was one of my faves as a kid :)

Only 23 here. People clearly need to start banning Dick Francis and Robert Parker ASAP so I can regain some street cred.

I loved "How to Eat Fried Worms" too! Although the "still chewing..." part at the very end still skeeves me out a bit... :)

Well, of those listed, I got a meer 14. Although 4 of them are questionable. I loved Judy Blume so am fairly certain that, even though I didn't recall two of the titles on the list, I read them. (Learned later that my mom read them first, then gave them to me!) I also know that Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer were assigned in school... just don't remember if I actually read them completely or not. I remember reading Go Ask Alice in high school.. didn't put it down, finished it in a day and a half.

Okay, one more post on this. Judy Blume still being challenged?? One of the top ten challenged authors from 2000 to 2003? I read her books when I was pre-teen! Mom told me about one that was challenged and she read it and didn't see the problem. It was being challenged b/c a girl started her period *gasp*. :) Okay, I'm done.
